Mozart's - Clintonville
Mozart's Bakery and Piano Cafe is an Austrian inspired treat in Clintonville. There's something for everyone on the menu! Breakfast include waffles, breakfast sandwiches, omelets and quiche. Other menu items include soup, salad, sandwiches, wiener schnitzel, strudels, spatzle and beef stroganoff. Afternoon tea is served daily from 2 to 4pm and includes three courses of scones, canapes, pastries and tea. In the bakery you'll find a ton of specialty tortes, including the wheat-free Wolfgang, Esterhazy and Ginnsbruck Tortes. The bakery also makes breakfast pastries, European tea cookies, biscotti and adorable petit fours and marzipan peaches.
Last month Kenneth and I were invited to a brunch at Mozart's to celebrate the his and his fellow students' graduation from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. We enjoyed a delicious brunch in a room reserved for large groups at Mozart's (I love the black and white striped walls everywhere!).
In between hugs and congratulations, we sipped coffee and mimosas while trying to decide what to order from our group menu. We could choose from several breakfast and lunch sandwiches, waffles, potatoes and quiches. All of Mozart's sandwiches can be made on gluten-free bread!
I decided to try the Mozart's Breakfast Sandwich which comes with two fried eggs, Black Forest ham, bacon and cheddar (all on gluten-free bread!). It was amazing! Kenneth ordered the Wolfgang Breakfast Sandwich with turkey, sausage, fried eggs, Ohio Swiss cheese on herbed focaccia bread. Our friends at our table enjoyed the Quiche Lorraine, Breakfast potatoes and the Smoked Salmon Sandwich.
I was so excited to check out the petite fours! The marzipan peaches are so cute! Unfortunately only the truffles are gluten-free, but I sampled all three and they were all fantastic. Kenneth tried the mini lemon cake and fruit tart - he said they were good!
Everything was delicious - and very filling! Kenneth and I had to go to the Columbus Park of Roses to walk some of it off. I hope to be back to Mozart's soon - I'm still thinking about that amazing sandwich!
