Green Tutorial: Wedding Terrarium
Remember when I went to Galentine's Night at Whole Foods and learned how to make a terrarium? It was so much fun! Every glass jar I encounter has a new purpose - it could be made into an awesome terrarium!
I made this terrarium for my friends, Brittany and Matt, last month as a wedding present from Kenneth and me. The best part of the terrarium is the teeny tiny bride and groom! They're so little! I bought the figurine from HobbyLinc. HobbyLinc sells a ton of different figurines of people and animals - so many possibilities!

Green Tutorial: Beaded Lucky Bamboo Bottle
This project is fun and easy to make - and the lucky bamboo is so cheerful! I had the idea for this project after I received my first Darby Smart craft kit last month. I bought the March edition of the monthly To DIY FOR box, the contents of which are a surprise! Inside my box was a wood burning hot pen, a reusable stencil, two cutting boards, a practice piece of wood, a tube of green beads in a bottle and an instruction sheet for making Wood Burned Cutting Boards.
I'm still practicing using the wood burning hot pen, it's taking me a while to master and I want to have a good technique before I burn the cutting boards. I'll share how they turn out on the blog!
The idea for this project came from another Darby Smart kit, the Confetti Champagne Flutes. The flutes look like they have little beads along the outside of the glass and the green color of my beads in a bottle made me think of plants!

Green Tutorial: Large Jar Terrarium
Terrariums are so much fun! Making a terrarium is like building your own little world - a micro habitat you can set on a shelf and admire (or forget about - if you build a closed terrarium correctly, you should be able to leave it alone for years, or even decades, like this one!).

Wine and Canvas: Toulouse-Lautrec Edition at the Columbus Museum of Art
Wine and Canvas events have become very popular lately. I've seen photos of the artwork my friends have made at these events and I've always been really impressed. I wonder, how does everyone's painting look so similar? I've even entertained the idea that maybe everyone starts out with a "paint-by-number" template on their canvas.

The Candle Lab - Grandview Heights
The Candle Lab is a local candle company that makes soy candles with over 120 fragrances! There are three locations, one in Grandview Heights, Worthington and the Short North. Pre-made candles and other products can be purchased, or you can make a custom candle at one of their stores. I made my own candle as part of the bachelorette party festivities for my friend, Brittany (read about our dinner at Spagio here).

How-To: Make A Cat Grass Head
Olivia and Amelia got a treat today - cat grass! These two love green treats, I'm still not sure if the favorite is fresh catnip or fresh cat grass. I put this little 'cat grass head' together less than a week ago and already the grass is tall enough for them to sample!

Teeny Teacup Garden
My little teacup garden - complete with bonsai grasses, pink pebbles and a lucky little frog! I followed the steps I learned to make a terrarium earlier this month at Whole Foods to make this little garden. I hope to make more with moss once the ground thaws here in Columbus!

Galentine's Night at Whole Foods
Galentine's Day is a celebration invented by the quirky and lovable, Leslie Knope of NBC's comedy, Parks and Recreation.
What is Galentine's Day? I'll let Leslie explain:
Oh, it's only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It's like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus Frittatas. - Leslie Knope, Parks and Recreation Season 2 Episode 16

Columbus Flea
Last weekend Kenneth and I checked out the Columbus Flea for the first time. The Columbus Flea is held once a season and is a combination of a flea market and arts and craft fair. Local vendors sell a wide variety of products, from soy candles to vintage clothes. This time the Columbus Flea was held at Strongwater Food and Spirits, a restaurant and event venue in East Franklinton.

Create: An Etsy Craft Night w/Red Giraffe Designs at Whole Foods
Whole Foods in Upper Arlington is helping their shoppers get crafty! Earlier this week I took my first Etsy Craft Night. Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, Whole Foods invites a local Etsy artist to lead an arts and craft class in the cafe of the store. This week's Etsy artist was Kate Stevens, owner of Red Giraffe Designs. Kate showed us how to dress up a clay pot with masking tape, stamps and acrylic paint.

2014 Weekly Planners
Check out these planners I made using Blurb! I created a Veterinary Weekly Planner for Kenneth and a Warm Hearts & Wet Noses Planner for my mom and I. Both planners feature photographs of cats, dogs, farm animals and zoo and wild animals. The photos in the Veterinary Weekly Planner were all taken by me, but the Warm Hearts & Wet Noses Planner includes photos taken by Kenneth and me. I included a ton of quotes about animals, some of them are by one of Kenneth's favorite authors, James Herriot.

How-To: Make Christmas Card Globes
Christmas Card Globes are a great way to recycle old holiday cards into something new! Over the past two weeks I made a large collection of globes and have finally finished my photo tutorial to illustrate how easily they can be made! If you do not have a large hole punch, you can print my 3-D Globe Stencil Templates and make reusable templates out of lightweight cardboard (cereal boxes work well). The stencil templates are different sized circles with equilateral triangles inside of them. To make a template cut out the circle and trace it on cardboard before cutting out the triangle and tracing it. (Even if you use a large punch, you will still need an equilateral triangle template).
