Eastern Redbud Blossoms

It seems like all of the flowers in Franklin Park were in bloom today!  I took a bunch of photos this afternoon and decided to post this one of Eastern Redbud flowers.  A redbud tree in bloom is one of my favorite signs of spring!  The Eastern Redbud tree is small in size and has lovely heart shaped leaves.

Columbus Blue Jackets, Sunny Street Café & Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

Kenneth and I had a date night at the Arena District this past Saturday night!  We had dinner at Sunny Street Café, watched the Columbus Blue Jackets play the Nashville Predators and finished the evening with ice cream from Jeni's!  With Kenneth's heavy class schedule and my ever changing work hours (I work some weekends, sometimes 8am to 5pm, sometimes I'm off mid-afternoon, it just depends!), we have to take advantage of every opportunity we get to spend time together.

The Arena District is a 75 acre mutli-use development in downtown Columbus with a few small parks, restaurants, Nationwide Arena, Huntington Park, the Arena Grand Movie Theatre, urban housing and office space.

Springtime Flu

Not a very exciting photo, I know, but I've had a nasty cold for the past week and have been taking a lot of DayQuil and NyQuil (Giant Eagle's TopCare version is just as good as the name brand cold medicine!).  Hopefully I am feeling better soon because I have a fridge full of Meyer lemons, strawberries and rhubarb that need to be baked into something gluten-free and delicious!

Senior Veterinary Student

Today my husband, Kenneth, received his official white coat from Ohio State University!  Tomorrow he begins his fourth year of veterinary school and his first two week clinical rotation.  He will do two week clinical rotations from now until May 2014 when he will graduate.  I'm so proud of him and all of the hard work he has put into studying for tests, labs and surgeries.  One more year and he'll be a doctor!

The Start of My 365 Day Photo Challenge

I'm excited to start blogging and to start my 365 day photo challenge, so I decided to start a little early!  This shot was taken below the tree in front of our apartment this afternoon.  Today was a beautiful sunny day and the blossoms on this tree are gorgeous (the bees love them too!)!
