Aladdin's Eatery - Grandview Heights

Aladdin's Eatery is a casual Mediterranean themed restaurant chain that can easily accommodate meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free and nut-free diners.  Kenneth and I had dinner at the location in Grandview Heights over the weekend.

I always have a hard time deciding what to order at Aladdin's - there are so many options!  The menu is well labeled with what is vegetarian, vegan, gluten and nut free making it extremely easy to know what is ok for me to eat.  This time I ordered the tropical storm smoothie (it's full of fresh fruit: mango, guava, pineapple and banana plus yogurt, and honey) and the falafel salad.  Both were delicious!  The smoothie was really refreshing and the falafel were perfect!  They reminded me of 'hush puppies', crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but gluten-free!  Falafel is made from garbanzo beans (also called chickpeas) or fava beans, rather than wheat flour.  Salads aren't usually filling to me, but with the falafel the salad was really satisfying.

Kenneth ordered the beef kafta pita (which comes with beef, onions, tomato, herbs and spices and tahini yogurt dressing) and Aladdin's side salad.  He said the dressing on the salad had a little too much lemon flavor in it, but other than that his enjoyed the pita and salad.

I highly recommend Aladdin's Eatery - we've visited several times since moving to Columbus and have always had a great experience!
