How-To: Make A Cat Grass Head

Olivia and Amelia got a treat today - cat grass! These two love green treats, I'm still not sure if the favorite is fresh catnip or fresh cat grass. I put this little 'cat grass head' together less than a week ago and already the grass is tall enough for them to sample!

Poor Emma, she doesn't get what the fuss is about. She's never liked cat grass or catnip.

It's really easy to make one of these, you probably already have most of the materials at home!

How-To: Make A Cat Grass Head

Materials:
1 clean container (jar, teacup, or a small bowl)
Cotton balls (enough to fill the container when wet)
Cat grass seeds (enough to cover surface of cotton balls)
Water

Directions:
1. Fill container with cotton balls and add water until cotton balls are fully saturated (you may find you can add more cotton balls after adding water).
2. Sprinkle cat grass seeds on the surface of the cotton balls.
3. Set your container in a sunny location and wait for the seeds to sprout. You can let your cat munch on the grass when it's a few inches tall (the grass in the photos is less than a week old, it doesn't take long for it to grow). Don't let her eat too much at a time or the grass will have a hard time recovering!

Amelia and Olivia love it! ;-)
